Black Dog Rum
Sailors, schooners, and rum have always been kindred spirits. In the 1700s, ships hauled Caribbean molasses to Massachusetts distilleries, and by Prohibition, schooners were the quiet workhorses of “rum running.”
That salty, sea‑soaked legacy lives on with our founder, Captain Douglas. A lifelong Vineyard sailor, he built the iconic topsail schooner Shenandoah in 1960 and later restored the 1926 schooner Alabama. Today, both remain proud fixtures of New England waters.
With that same maritime spirit, The Black Dog Rum is crafted in small batches by our master blender—premium aged rums, smooth Bourbon Barrel aged sippers, cocktail‑ready white rum, and easygoing canned cocktails—all inspired by adventure, tradition, and the sea.

Crystal-clear and light-bodied, this silky rum blends well with juices, colas, soda and tonic water, perfect for mixed drinks

A mahogany-hued, extra-smooth and full-bodied rum, recommended for sipping with sparkling water.

Our special golden rum with aromas of red fruit, honey and toasted nut, joined on the palate by oak, vanilla and baked apples.
Black Dog Beer
We’ve teamed up with Shoveltown Brewery to bring beach vibes straight to your cooler. From dockside to fireside to toes-in-the-sand, these limited-release brews are made for life off the leash — a bright, breezy Pilsner and a bold, juicy IPA. Look for fresh drops all season long.

Brewed with only Citra hops - in which orange, grapefruit and peach flavors take off. Light on the palette, with a clean citrus finish.

This light, crisp and refreshing golden lager is brewed with 100% continental malts and shines with the addition of Polish Marynka hops. It is meant to be enjoyed in quantity with great food and great people
